Little Buddy's Room: Transitioning Into A Toddler Bed

Okay, so we're moving forward with Little Buddy's room today.  You've seen his nursery...kind of...because it was never really documented, nor physically completed.  The design goal was function, and that's pretty much it.  Here we are... moving forward.  To just give you a quick visual of the crib/toddler bed we were working with as we transitioned from the nursery to a "big boy room," I wanted to share just a couple photos of what his crib looked like as a toddler bed, along with a few of the sweet moments and expressions of the night.  The room pretty much remained the same in terms of furniture and layout, but the toddler bed option led way to a whole new world for Cooper.

TRANSITIONING TO A TODDLER BED

I previously wrote about Coop's first night in his toddler bed HERE.  With the opening on the side of the bed, he loved being able to get in and out as he pleased.  He felt like such a big boy and was grinning ear to ear.  We only heard a kerplunk a couple times in the middle of the night and came running to find a sad Cooper that had shimmied his way out of bed while sleeping.  He was big enough and strong enough that on the rare occasion it did happen, we weren't worried so much as addressing a tearful middle of the night saga.  We felt very confident in Cooper sleeping in this bed safely, and it led to many nights of peaceful slumber for this little buddy.  In any event, Cooper rocks our socks.  Watching him get so excited for his first night in the toddler bed was great entertainment in and of itself, and a sweet memory I will cherish always.

RECAP: The room's layout stayed the same as the nursery with adequate furniture and function, lots of accessories, a place for everything.  We were lacking and still hoping for curtains (instead of hanging fleece blankets), paint on the walls, and wall art.

Oh sweet memories...I love you.

STAY TUNED FOR PART 3...Little Buddy's Room:  I'm A Big Kid Now (In Progress).  We are slowly working toward completion.  Slow and steady wins the race, right?  :)

Blessings to you,
